February Half-Term Events and Activities in the West Midlands [2025]

Looking for fun-filled adventures this February half-term 2025? We've got you covered! Whether you’re after thrilling theme parks, hands-on farm experiences, or historical explorations, there’s something for everyone. With plenty of family-friendly activities, your half-term is set to be packed with excitement.


Here’s a roundup of my favourite February half-term events and attractions near Birmingham and the wider West Midlands area.

Alton Towers: Pirate Takeover

Set sail on a swashbuckling adventure as the infamous pirates of Mutiny Bay take over Alton Towers Resort. Alton Towers is always top on one of the best family-friendly places to visit, and promises hours and hours of fun!


During the half-term, families can enjoy live entertainment, explore CBeebies Land, and embark on all of the pirate-themed activities. Don't miss the Pieces of Eight treasure hunt for little explorers. 


Note: Admission includes access to Mutiny Bay, Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE, CBeebies Land, and Towers Street. The rest of the park isn't open until March.

Drayton Manor: The Big Blue Birthday Bash

Join the celebration at Drayton Manor as Thomas the Tank Engine turns 80! Families can enjoy brand-new live entertainment, a fun candy trail, and cupcake decorating.

Note: This event includes access to Thomas Land and the zoo only; thrill rides will not be operational during this period. 


  • How much? Ticket prices vary. Tickets bought through Wowcher are two tickets for £22.50. Click here for more information.

West Midlands Safari Park: Character Week

Meet some of your favourite characters at West Midlands Safari Park! Enjoy photo opportunities and all the excitement of the safari drive-through and walk-through areas.

  • Saturday 15, Sunday 16 & Monday 17 February 2025 – Bluey Meet & Greet 

  • Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 February 2025 – Peppa Pig Meet & Greet 

  • Thursday 20 & Friday 21 February 2025 – Captain Barnacles – Octonauts' Meet & Greet 

  • Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 February 2025 – Chase - PAW Patrol Meet & Greet

Black Country Living Museum

Step back in time to explore leisure activities from the Victorian era to the 1960s at Black Country Living Museum. Engage in hands-on activities, meet historic characters, play traditional games, and even participate in a dance class. 


  • How much? Standard admission fees apply; see the museum's website for current prices. And remember, when you buy a full priced general admission ticket for just one day, we will give you an UnChained Annual Pass so you can return as many times as you like for a whole year at no extra charge!

Blists Hill Victorian Museum

Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a real Victorian town at Blists Hill. Meet costumed characters, visit traditional shops, and enjoy half-term activities during Victorian Food Week.

  • How much? £27 per adult, £15 per child, under 5's go free. 

  • Where? Blists Hill Victorian Town, Legges Way, Telford TF7 5UD.


National Forest Adventure Farm: New Life on the Farm

Experience the wonders of spring with the arrival of new farm animals at National Forest Adventure Farm. Help bottle-feed lambs, meet goat kids, piglets, chicks, and calves. Enjoy farming-themed activities alongside large indoor and outdoor play areas.


  • How much? £14.50 per person, under 2's go free.

  • Where? National Forest Adventure Farm, Postern Road, Tatenhill, Burton-on-Trent DE13 9SJ.


Lower Drayton Farm: Lambs & Ewe

At Lower Drayton Farm this February half-term holiday, you can meet over 100 different breeds of sheep and their adorable lambs. Watch educational films about sheep and lambs, get up close in the lambing barn, and learn fun facts with the sheep knowledge trail. The farm also offers indoor and outdoor play areas and small animal zones.


  • How much? £17.50 per person, under 2s go free.

  • Where? The Play Barn Lower Drayton Lane, Stafford ST19 5RE.


Statfold Country Park

A must-visit for train lovers, Statfold Country Park offers a half-term filled with miniature railway rides, interactive workshops, and fun train-themed activities for all ages. Ride the heritage steam trains and explore the world’s largest collection of narrow-gauge locomotives!


  • How much? Ticket prices vary; check the website for details. You can currently get a family pass for £23.25 via Planet Offers.

  • Where? Statfold Country Park, Ashby Road, Tamworth B79 0BU.


Dudley Zoo

Home to a diverse collection of animals, Dudley Zoo offers a fun and educational day out for the whole family. Explore the zoo's exhibits, learn about conservation efforts, and enjoy the scenic surroundings of the historic Dudley Castle.


  • How much? You can currently get cheaper tickets via Wowcher. £9.50 per child, £12.95 per adult, or £34.95 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children).

  • Where? Castle Hill, Dudley DY1 4QF.


Conkers

Get active in nature at Conkers! This outdoor adventure park offers a 4D cinema, an assault course-style trail, and exciting indoor and outdoor play areas. 


  • How much? Prices vary. At the time of writing this guide, Groupon has an offer for a family of four to visit for £22.45. 

  • Where? Rawdon Road, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Swadlincote DE12 6GA.


BeWILDerwood: Buy One Get One Free

A bit further afield, you can enjoy a magical outdoor adventure at BeWILDerwood Cheshire with their fantastic half-term offer—Buy One Get One Free! This enchanting woodland wonderland features giant treehouses, wobbly bridges, zip wires, and captivating storytelling sessions. It's a perfect fresh-air day out with activities to suit the whole family, from toddlers to tweens.
